Michael Talbot | Artist in Residence
Michael Talbot's residency with Street Theory Collective reflects our commitment to supporting artists as they grow their practice, expand their visibility, and bring ambitious public projects to life.
Throughout his residency, Michael developed new work while engaging with opportunities that strengthened both his artistic voice and professional career. As part of the program, Street Theory Collective supported the presentation of his solo exhibition, Atlas, at BLK Chip Gallery, marking an important milestone in his evolving body of work.
His residency will culminate with The Next Adventure, a public mural commissioned for Boda Borg in Malden. The project embodies the spirit of our Artist in Residence program by creating meaningful pathways from studio practice to public art, connecting artists with commissions that allow their work to engage new audiences and communities.
Michael's residency is a testament to what our program is designed to foster: sustained artistic development, meaningful collaborations, and opportunities that extend beyond the gallery walls.
About The Artist
Michael Talbot is a Jamaican-born, Boston-based Freelance Artist and Visual Story-teller who has worked on a wide range of projects, murals, exhibitions, and showcases since 2012. His work, often narrative-driven,is most characterized by the keen use of motion, negative space, as well as a limited palette reminiscent of graphic novels and other forms of sequential art. Michael believes that all art is inter-connected in some facet; informing, complimenting and/or enhancing each other. And although his passion and interest for storytelling is forefront in his practice and craft, he tends to draw from his knowledge in multiple areas of study to help strengthen this process.
